This artwork captures the unsettling yet humorous moment of a late-night encounter in rehab—a woman’s face illuminated by the narrow beam of a flashlight, her wide eyes staring in shock as she sticks out her tongue, which is digitally transformed into a giant strawberry. The low lighting and shadowy background create a sense of mystery and tension, enhancing the surreal nature of the scene. It’s as if reality has been twisted into a bizarre hallucination, where the ordinary is made extraordinary and the strawberry becomes a metaphor for the unexpected twists and absurdities of recovery. The piece evokes both laughter and unease, inviting viewers to question what is real and what is imagined.
